I kind of do two sets of resolutions through the year. January is natural since everyone is talking about it and some people are making lists to take care of. But I also like to reflect on where I’m at, where I’ve been, and where I would like to go around my birthday in August. It’s not quite resolutions either time, but it is definitely a list of things I would like to check off at some point!
When I come up with things I want to do, I take a look at what I’ve already done. I am really proud of some of the things I did get done in 2022. I got to contribute to three separate compilation books. I lost 90 pounds. My husband and I have been married for 13 years and our relationship is in a good place. My kids have amazing self-confidence and I don’t want to take credit for that because they are their own people, but I do like to think I have contributed to that.
The things I want to cross off my list in 2023 are along the same veins a bit. I’m around 40% of the way to my final weight loss goal and I want to fill up some of the spots where skin is starting to get looser with muscles. I need to get my tattoo finished, it still needs watercolor. I’ve been terrible at reading for fun and I want to work on that this year.
The world still feels like a dumpster fire a lot of the time, but things more locally feel good. I like the chance to reflect and restart. I will definitely be writing here more as I move through the year!
